For one of my junior level UAS courses we were required to use a DJI drone in order to create an orthomosaic of an area near Purdue's campus. This was a partner project. A visual observer was necessary in order to perform this operation. We utilized a DJI Mavic in combination with the Pix4D application in order to create an autonomous flight path and take pictures to create the orthomosaic. The flight lasted about 15 minutes. After taking these pictures we uploaded the pictures onto the Pix4D desktop application in order to create two and three-dimensional orthomosaic images. Two of the three-dimensional images can be seen below. We chose to photograph part of the Purdue wildlife area.
